About Us

Welcome to the website of the North West Bristol Camera Club.

If you want to take your photography forward, or just enjoy taking photographs, come and join us at NWBCC. You may not think you have a good enough camera – but almost everyone now has at least a mobile phone, and it’s the photographer who takes the images not the camera.

We meet every Tuesday (except in July and August) at 7.30pm in Sommerville, in Westbury Fields,

BS10 6TW, so we are ideally situated for camera addicts in Henleaze, Southmead and Westbury-on-Trym, but we're not far from anywhere in north Bristol.

We have talks, technique evenings and competitions, as well as photographic outings to local places of interest; but mostly we love talking about our own and other people’s photos, and sharing ideas and skills.

Why not come along?

We are a relatively small club, with some 25-30 members. You will find us a friendly bunch of people always ready to welcome visitors and new members.

We have links with, and have carried out work on behalf of, a number of local organisations including Bristol Zoo, the Bristol Industrial Museum, Bristol Natural History Consortium, the Downs Wildlife Trust, and others. Members' work has been published in both the local and national press and on the national BBC website. See Community Engagement for more.

New members are always welcome. There is no need to make any special arrangements.

If you would like to sample a typical evening, or chat to some of our members, then just come along on a Tuesday.

See the 'Find Us' page for more information about the club location and membership.

See the 'Members' Gallery' and 'Competitions Gallery' sub-pages for examples of our members' work.

Please browse our website. It should tell you all you need to know to take the next step.
