Hi Folk!

Just a reminder for you not to miss Club outing next Wednesday!! We are meeting at the Lock Keepers pub at Keynsham. It is just along from Willsbridge Mill, and is very easy to find from the road.

As light is fading fast in the evenings its best to aim for a 7 p.m. meet, and I am hoping to reserve a table for our meal there for 8 - 8.30p.m Please come whatever time you can make it. It is our last event for this summer - and remember to put a red ring around 6th September - our first night back in the club room!

We were asked if any of us could help out at a Fun Day at Victoria Park on 9th September. I have offered to go, and would appreciate any company there.......Here is a nice outline of what is involved...
.........................
We would be really delighted if you and perhaps some other members of your club are able to make it to the VPAG fun-day on the 9th September. We are busy making final arrangements now, and it looks like it will be a really fun day, and of course fingers are crossed for good weather. On the day we're planning to have a stage for music, kids entertainment, craft stalls and various other activities. We've always found that the organisers of the event spend such a long time running around being busy at the day that we lose many great opportunities to take photographs of the events, or of course many of the organisers find that they come home with only pictures of their own families! With the colourful events that are going on and the crowds (hopefully!) of local people that come along, we hope that there will be good chances for some really great pictures.
The event will take place from 12pm to 6pm on the 9th, in Victoria Park, Bedminster. If you've driven along the south side of the river from temple meads you'll have probably seen the bright yellow footbridge - the best way to get to the park is to turn off at the lights next to this footbridge, to go under the railway bridge and then the park will be on your right hand side. The event takes place on the far side of the park, so you would turn up Hill Avenue and park there, or if you have bicycles there are railings at various points around the park - I don't think you'll be able to miss us!
Don't worry about confirming if or how many of you may be able to make it - we'll be very happy to see you if you can make it for the day or even just a part of it, but since we're unable to offer more than drink and sticky goodies for coming along, we won't ask you to make a firm commitment. ........................................................................

However, do let me know if you can come with me for all or part of the time there...I think it could be fun!

'Bye for now, Mavis.
