Hello all,
Just thought that you might like to know of some good exhibitions if you are
happening to visit London in the near future.
Can definitely recommend "In the Face of History" European photographers of
the 20th century at the Barbican Centre - plus you get to visit the
Barbican, architecture as it should be, a clear concept based on form and
structure, and undiluted by adverts, signs, satellite dishes etc etc. Great.
Also at the V&A - National Photographic Portrait Award images, good value as
only £1 entry. There is also "Photography in the Magical Hour - at Twilight"
at the same place, though didn't manage to see it.
And for Jim - and anyone else interested, a special exhibition of Hockney
portraits at the National Portrait Gallery (pre-booking recommended) until
Jan 21st - didn't see that either but it appears topical.
Marilyn
