Dear Sir / Madam

You have received this email as your email address was the listed contact
email address for your camera club. Please accept my apologies if the
content of this email is not of interest or if it has reached an out of
date contact email address; and an assurance that you will not be emailed
again on this or any other subject unless you specifically request further
information.

I am emailing you to enquire as to whether you or your camera club members
would be interested on a photographic competition we are running on
AditNow.co.uk. AditNow is a meeting point and discussion forum for the UK
mine exploration community, but also exists to document our fragile and
disappearing mining and quarrying heritage through photography and
exploration.

This is the first year we have run a photographic competition, and this
year's subject is "what we've left behind". We hope that running a
competition will push forward the standard of relevant above and below
ground photography and better document and preserve this important part of
our industrial heritage.

We have some decent prizes to give away, but aside from the prizes I hope
that we can run it as a fun competition with a good range of entries from
around the UK.

We've decided this year to focus mainly on above ground photography, in
order that the competition is open to a wider audience by allowing entries
from people who might have an interest in mining and quarrying history and
who photograph surface remains but do not venture underground. To that end
at least two of the three submitted photographs must be above ground. One
photograph may be an underground subject if you wish. All photographs must
be mine or quarry related and must be true to the subject.

Prizes:

1st: Silva L1 3W Luxeon headlamp, sponsored by ABC Powermarine
2nd: £40 worth of books, sponsored by Moore Books
3rd: Silva L2 Luxeon headlamp, sponsored by ABC Powermarine

3 x runners up prizes of your best judged photograph printed at A4 size
and framed.

Full details:

For full details, prize information, rules etc., please see this page:
http://www.aditnow.co.uk/static/photocomp2007.aspx

The competition will run annually, and the subject will alter each year,
next year is likely to be far more focussed on underground photography.

Once again, please accept my apologies if this is of no interest, or if
this email has reached an out of date contact email address. In either of
these cases there is no need to reply to this email, you will not be
emailed again on this or any other subject unless you specifically request
further information.

Best regards,
Simon Lowe
