[John Case]

Please do not assume from my recent remarks that I am totally  
uncritical of all BPS members work. I once long ago, yes little ol'  
me would you believe, judged their annual slide competition, and was  
lucky to get out of West Mall alive!

Technical excellence per se does not impress me, a technically good  
photograph can be imaginative and creative or boring and dull, just  
as a poor quality one can.

Of course, at the end of the day, (what am I using that phrase for -  
I hate it! )  it's " in the eye of the beholder." I've seen paintings  
that look like they've been produced by a chimpanzee on his bad day  
that others drool over!
