Hi All
I have now had response from 5 members who are willing to give
illustrated talks and slide shows to the public on behalf of our
club. Details have been forwarded to Patrick for publication on the
NWBCC website, but in the meantime here they are. Many thanks to all
who have responded, anyone wishing to add to the list please let me
know.

HOWELL PEREGRINE TALKS:
"A privileged visit to Japan
"The Severn Bore"
"Water waves and their impact on the coast"
"Aspects of Southern California, including the desert in bloom"
"Looking at rocks: some famous, some local and some puzzling"
"New Zealand (North Island) with emphasis on 'When the earth opened'"
RAY COTTRELL TALKS:
"Plants on the Orchid Trail"
"Scotland's West Coast"
JOHN CASE AND PETER RUCK AUDIO VISUAL SEQUENCES:
"Sound and Vision with John and Pete."
SYLVIA KELLY TALKS:
"The Bristol Connection (with the Isle of Man)"
The Manx poet who taught all his life in Clifton College hankered for
the IoM and wrote narrative poems in Manx dialect as well as some
describing the Bristol he knew. There are many beautiful paintings
and photos that illustrate both aspects of his life.
"Happiest Days in Henleaze"
A tour of the stately homes of Henleaze which became schools. A few
have survived but many flourished briefly before being demolished for
the house building boom. Their archive photos take us back to our
own schooldays.
"Behind the Scenes"
Postcards were used as we now use mobile phones but the messages can
still be read and as printing technology improved the pictures
developed into works of art. As almost everyone has visited a
resort in their youth the scenes are nostalgic too.
MARYLIN ADAMS TALKS:
1. "The East Bristol Dramway" - a photographic interpretation of an
historic coal haulage route
2. "The Landscapes and Wildlife of the Galapagos"
3. "On the Trail of the Incas - but not the Inca Trail"
4. "Photographing Wildlife - some hints and ideas"
