jsp> Competition is an international showcase for the very best
photography featuring natural subjects. The competition is owned by two
UK institutions that pride themselves on revealing and championing the
diversity of life on Earth - the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife
Magazine - and is sponsored by Shell.
The longest running and most prestigious event of its kind in the world
- last year's competition attracted more than 18,000 entries from
amateurs and professionals of all ages and from no fewer than 55
countries. And with wildlife photographers pushing the boundaries
year-after-year, as well as several new and revised categories, the 2007
competition promises to be bigger and more inspiring than ever. Entrants
can win an impressive GBP10,000 prize if they become the overall
individual winner, the highest prize ever offered in this competition.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony that will take place
in October at the Natural History Museum, London. All the winning and
commended photographs will then go on display at the Natural History
Museum until April 2008.
